Born Chicago, IL.

Currently works & lives in Twin Cities area of Minnesota.

In my artwork, I use photography as a means to explore and interpret the world. Everyone's vision is unique, and I enjoy seeing and expressing the world through unusual vantage points or perceptions.

I'm an artist who currently utilizes photography as a means to express the urge or compulsion to create. Drawing and mixed media pieces have also been produced over the course of my artistic exploration.

I've been asked what camera I use. I truly believe the type or model of camera isn't important, it's the eye behind the camera. No one asks what paint, brushes, or canvas artists like Basquiat, Pollock or Van Gogh used. It's what they did with the paint, brushes and canvas, that ultimately led to painting "Irises," or  "The Starry Night." Their hand, their eye, their imagination, their creativity, those were the critical tools in creation.

In the course of my exploration of photography as a means to produce art, I've used film based cameras, developing and processing the film in a dark room. I moved on to simple "point and shoot" cameras by Sony and Nikon. I've used digital SLRs (a Nikon D70s and Nikon D90) and when I haven't had a camera with me, I've used my mobile phone; an iPhone (various models) for the last (probably) 10 years. As technology accelerates and leads to greater leaps in camera abilities within the ubiquitous mobile devices we carry with us, the photography that is produced by mobile devices will only get better. It's already gotten better with the ability to shoot "wide" and "telephoto" on some models of mobile phones. Artificial Intelligence (AI) will also help quickly compute proper exposure and ensure a great "shot" in most circumstances.

But at the end of the day, photography remains an artistic pursuit that is contingent on the eye of the artist, the photographer, composing an interesting shot for their audience.
